Headmistress's welcome

A very warm welcome awaits you when you come and visit Leicester Grammar Junior School.

Educating the ‘whole child’ is my priority and privilege as the Headmistress of LGJS.  Ensuring the academic, personal, social and emotional needs are met in every aspect of children’s early school experience can underpin a lifelong love of learning.  I look forward to laying those foundations with children, staff and parents of the LGJS family.

With twenty years’ experience as a junior school headteacher – in the UK and overseas – I have been drawn to the high standards of individual care and academic ambition of the LGS Trust Schools. Leicester Grammar School is pastorally and educationally strong, and I am keen to build on its fine reputation.  I shall be teaching alongside an energetic and passionate team of educators, all with the same focus on ensuring the happy progress of every pupil.

When not involved with LGJS life and supporting my own three children with their sporting and musical events at senior school, I may be enjoying some mindful time immersed in a variety of pastimes, honed in lock down.  Everything from paddle=boarding to dressmaking is on the list and, when all else fails to relax and restore, I will be exploring new dog walks with our therapy whippet, Zola.
