Health and Well-being

Well-being at LGJS

Well-being is a priority at Leicester Grammar Junior School

We are committed to supporting the well-being and mental health of all our children, staff and parents and we fully recognise that well-being, physical and mental health are all vital to successful learning.

Noticing what is going on in our bodies and minds is an important skill for staying mentally healthy. We would like to encourage you to have a look at our 'Feel Better Newsletter' - it is a great starting point for everyone considering the benefits of a strong mental health practice; providing tools, tips and ideas for sustained well-being.

Well-being Manager

The Well-being Manager, Miss Rebecca Dockree, works closely with Mrs Strong, Deputy Head Pastoral. Miss Rebecca offers support to students dealing with emotional health and well-being issues. She has over 16 years’ experience supporting school children with any worries, issues or concerns they may have and in additional she has 10 years of safeguarding experience.

Rebecca offers a safe non-judgemental environment for pupils to explore their thoughts and feelings by allowing them to talk and be heard while supporting them throughout their school life.
